Ocean Breeze
Posted on February 13th, 2015 No commentsLet the wind of the Spirit
Blow upon you,
Set your spirit
Free to fly.
A longing in my heart began to stir. I longed go to the ocean to feel the cool sea breeze upon my face, to watch the waves crash against the rocks of the northern coast of California, and to take photos of the lighthouses near Fort Bragg. I love taking my shoes off and allowing the gentle waves wash over my feet as I walk along the shore. I wanted to paint a prophetic picture while looking at the Pacific Ocean. I decided to go, with Jesus.
All things are possible with God.
Loving Jesus.

Burning Bush
Posted on January 17th, 2015 4 commentsThe burning bush represents a call activated, a call to action.
Moses was tending his father-in-law’s sheep and goats on Mount Sinai when he saw a supernatural sight, a bush that burned but was not consumed by the flames. He turned aside to get a closer look and heard the voice of God calling his name.
Moses was a man destined for greatness. He was saved by an Egyptian princess and raised in the pharaoh’s household. But, when he saw the injustice his people suffered, he killed an Egyptian and fled for his life. He lived quietly as a shepherd for many years in a distant land. One day the great I AM called his name from the flames in the midst of a burning bush. God called Moses into a destiny far greater than any pharaoh ever achieved. He led a nation of slaves into freedom.
Underneath this painting is picture of a burning bush I painted seven years ago. That picture had red, orange, and yellow flames. I felt Holy Spirit inviting me to paint over it, to create a new picture. I followed the lead of Holy Spirit and used only red, orange, and yellow. But, this time I drew blossoms. I added iridescent gold paint that made the colors shimmer with light. Finally I added a touch of blue. I loved this new picture so much more than the old one. I looked at it and asked the Lord for a title. Did I hear “Burning Bush?” The “Burning Bush” restored?
I painted this picture on New Year’s Day, 2015. I wondered about the significance of this picture in relationship to the first day of the new year. I posted this picture on Prophetic Arts for Jesus, a group on Facebook, and asked for feedback. After reading their response, and prayerfully considering the meaning of this picture, I concluded my painting is indeed called, “Burning Bush.” It speaks about the coming year, 2015.
The burning bush is a miracle, a supernatural occurrence through which God spoke to Moses, a man who didn’t feel adequate or capable in two ways. He lacked power and a voice. God gave him a staff that had miraculous power. He told him that He would help him speak and even tell him what to say. And when that still wasn’t enough, God gave him a companion, his brother Aaron to help him. God promised to help both of them to speak. He indeed provided.
The call was to rescue a people locked into slavery, a people who were crying out to God from the heavy burdens of the oppression of bondage.
So, Moses went in faith to Egypt to rescue the Hebrews with the promise of power and a voice. He led God’s people into freedom.
Here is a type of shadow of things to come, things that have arrived, and are coming forth.
Today the burning bush is the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus. God has provided the power of Holy Spirit who gives his believers a voice. The power and voice are one in Holy Spirit.
I have seen a vision of the resurrected Jesus and felt his love for the lost. Jesus was in the dirt for the love of mankind. Jesus is in the miracle of the resurrection calling out, “Go and rescue my people who are crying out from the oppression of slavery to sin. Bring them into the promised land, into freedom from sin!”
All who have ears, let them hear.
Jesus will have a glorious harvest of souls this year.

No Fear in Love
Posted on July 17th, 2013 No commentsI once watched a little girl, about 4 years old, approach her father as he was preaching. In front of many people she walked right up to him. He gently patted her on the head and continued to speak. She moved quietly to a nearby table where some ladies with jellybeans sat. She reached out to get some, but some of the candy slipped through her little hands. Other hands quickly grabbed up the spilled treasure and put them back into her hands. She went back to her seat and enjoyed those jellybeans.
Can you approach your heavenly Father like a little child who trusts His love?
My picture illustrates this concept so well. The stallion is strong and powerful. An enemy needs to back off when he postures and walks out with his head held high and his muscles flexed. His confidence radiates from his presence. He is always ready and capable of protecting the foal from all enemies. Yet, his young one snuggles up to him in complete comfort because he knows his father is gentle too. He has no fear. He easily comes close and feels secure. He can lean into his father.
Early in my Christian walk, I was taught about the fear of God. My response to this teaching was to be afraid of Him. Can you confidently and boldly approach a Father who scares you? Will you see Him as someone who wants to protect you? I was also taught to read the Bible. I came across some verses that spoke of God as love, and that there was no fear in love. I read these words over and over. The words began to penetrate my soul. I learned to trust my heavenly Father. I have come to know through my experience that He is awesome, yet approachable and safe. When I sing His praises and worship Him, I mean it. I know Him as the One who has rescued me, whose everlasting faithful love is trustworthy.
God is love… There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear. So then love has not been made perfect in anyone who is afraid, because fear has to do with punishment (1 John 16b-18 GNT).
I can lean on my heavenly Father in complete security.
So can you. Jesus proved His love. He died for you… and rose again!
Get to know Him. He is wonderful!
I photographed this stallion and his foal in June of 2013. The Lord spoke to me through this picture of his strength and gentleness.

He Goes Before You
Posted on May 20th, 2013 4 commentsThe Almighty Holy God is a consuming fire!
A light that can never be extinguished and never was lit.
Existing before time,
Creating in love with a mighty gentle hand.
He leads us with unfailing, faithful love
Into hope.
Hope is a sparkling star whose light is beyond measure
An anchor that keeps us from drifting aimlessly.
Hope takes us on a journey through the storm
Beyond our imagination
To the peaceful shore.
Hope leads us into His eternal promises.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, the hope of the nations.
He goes before you.

God Loves Me
Posted on November 5th, 2012 4 commentsYes, may you come to know his love-although it can never be fully known- and so be completely filled with the very nature of God (Ephesians 3: 19 GNT).
I woke up sad last week. I spent some time with Jesus, writing in my journal as usual. I received a word from Him that the end of the day would be better than the start. I took a walk around the Marina, and then I took a hike and photographed some wild horses… love being around them… but still, I felt so sad. So, I ate dinner. Immediately I had indigestion and pain. This was not unusual lately. My stomach did not receive food well for months. There’s nothing like pain to facilitate crying out to God for help. Clearly, I understood that I needed to do art. So I wiped my tears and applied ribbons of color on paper by faith. What would this picture become? I had no idea, but it felt so good to do art while worship music played in the background. I started drawing in one direction, then turned the paper another way. My concentration was intense. I knew the picture was nearly finished, yet still, I didn’t know what shape all the colors were forming. Finally, I completed the bottom right purple shape. I saw it formed a long heart. Then, I looked at the whole picture and exclaimed, “It’s a heart!” I laughed out loud! Jesus loves me! All my sadness and pain instantly disappeared as Holy Spirit filled me up with the realization of God’s amazing love. It took just a little more color on the top left to complete the heart.
I look at this picture and smile at how clever Jesus is to call me to make a heart by faith! He told me, yet again, that He loves me! Yes, the end of the day was so much better. Joy is so much better than saddness. Thank you Jesus for your everlasting, forever, amazing love.
He loves me. He loves you, too. Our heavenly Father doesn’t prefer one of His children over another. His love is more than enough for us all!
I see seeds of faith planted in this heart overflowing with joy and freedom. What do you see?
